Construction work at the Pohulianka Colony began in Spring, 1897. The Land Bank most likely purchased the almost vacant 1.7 hectare plot of land between what are now Čiurlionio, Jovaro and Basanavičiaus Streets and sold plots to various people.
The householders were: Bolesław Wieliczko, Ludwik Kazimierz Karpowicz, Józef Wierzbicki, Paweł Załęski, Bogdanowicz, Malinowski, Wiktor Godlewski, Dowiakowski, Bogdan Połoński, Count Kodź, Józef Montwiłł, W. Kątkowski.
Thes were two- and single storey houses. Each householder had an enclose 0.1-0.12 ha plot of land with a garden and vegetable garden.
